New developments in design software and additive manufacturing are making it easier and more affordable to turn ideas into reality. This course will show you how you can take an idea, using a ring as an example, and have it on your finger in as little as a few hours. You'll learn how to design a ring in a variety of mechanical design software programs, and we'll show you options of how to produce it. Software required: Fusion 360, Onshape, SOLIDWORKS 2016.

Course Overview Hello. My name is Andy Rahden, I'm here at Pluralsight and joining me is Matt Morgan. We're really excited to share a new concept that we have with the world around how we are designing specifically, a ring. So we wanted to share with you the concept, design, and manufacturing stages of how we develop this ring. This ring really, we wanted to gather our ideas from the beginning to share with everyone our approach to the design. We want to share with you, right from the beginning, how I passed my ideas to Matt, all the way through how those ideas were created inside of a CAD platform, and then actually manufacture it. So, I'm really excited to share that with everybody. Matt, maybe you can introduce yourself as well. Okay, as Andy said, my name is Matt Morgan. I've been in the engineering and design industry for about 15 years. When Andy came to me with this idea to create a real, physical product, and take it from the thought to a completed product, I was excited to join and help with this project.
