Course Overview
Hello. My name is Chris Green, and welcome to my course, Running Prometheus in Production. I've used all my experience running Prometheus and other software in production environments to produce this course. If you're responsible for Prometheus infrastructure, then it will tell you all you need to know. Being a mature and feature‑rich monitoring system, Prometheus has many important considerations for production deployment. With the right approach, you can keep maintenance simple and metrics available. You'll see how to achieve this by learning to simplify common maintenance tasks, choosing a Prometheus data storage solution, and designing the right Prometheus architecture. By the end of this course, you will know how to update Prometheus versions with minimal downtime, implement constant data backups to AWS S3, and enhance availability through high availability pairs. This course is part of the learning path Event Alerting and Monitoring with Prometheus. Before starting, you should be familiar with the core concepts of Prometheus. You should also be comfortable with the Linux command line. After this course, you will have all the practical skills required to run Prometheus in production with confidence. From here, you should find it easy to make the right deployment choices for your needs. I hope you will join me to learn about Running Prometheus in Production, here on Pluralsight.
