Course Overview
Hi, everyone. My name is Scott Lee, and welcome to my course, Python for Salesforce Developers. I am the CEO of Elega Corporation and a software developer of many years working both on Salesforce and out of Salesforce and other programming languages building integrations. By using another programming language like Python that can run outside Salesforce, you can enhance what Salesforce can do without the restriction of Salesforce's governor limits for instantaneous processing with other systems or massive increases in performance. In this course, we are going to learn about Python as it applies to Salesforce integrations, as well as a quick crash course on the language In general. Some of the major topics we will cover include Python syntax versus Apex syntax as it appears in Salesforce, writing Python for Salesforce APIs to create integrations, and considerations for enterprise applications. By the end of this course, you'll be writing the basics of the Python language and be working with real world‑style examples for creating Salesforce integrations. Before beginning the course, you should be at least somewhat familiar with either JavaScript or Apex as it applies to Salesforce or previous experience in Python while seeking to better understand Salesforce integrations. From here, you should feel comfortable diving deeper into Python or Salesforce with courses on Leveraging the Salesforce APIs, Writing Python for Integrations, and Asynchronous or Parallel Python programs. I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn Python for Salesforce with the Python for Salesforce Developers course at Pluralsight.
