Large Assembly Dilemma
Welcome to the SolidWorks course on Creating Simplified General Arrangements. Perhaps like me in the past, you've been challenged with working with very large assemblies to create customer submittal drawings or sales proposals. These types of drawings require you to be able to make radical changes very quickly, which is a huge challenge when your assemblies are made up of 2, 000 plus parts. Even with linked top-down assemblies, this can be an impossible task, especially if you have a creative sales force that likes to sell things that have never been designed before. Hello, my name is Brian Kwant, and if any of this sounds like familiar pain points to you, then please stay tuned as I discuss some ideas on how to alleviate these issues. In this course, I will be discussing the following topics: I will first talk about the large assembly dilemma, talk about how to identify what customers really care about, talk about how to optimize your design. Next, we'll look at implementing the customer changes, and we'll end with a wrap up of the entire course, reviewing everything that we've learned.
