From movies to Blu-Ray discs, 3D has become very prevalent. Many people are curious about this field, but are sadly under-informed. In this tutorial, we will look at everything a person would want to know before entering the stereoscopic 3D industry. By the end of the course, you will be able to start planning your own 3D film. Introduction and Project Overview
Hi. I'm Anandh Ramesh, an animator, compositor, stereographer, and filmmaker based in Chennai, India. I've been in the Stereo 3D industry since the mid-2000s. And I've been teaching animation, VFX, and Stereo 3D for about four years now. I'm currently the director and chief mentor of Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics, Chennai. In this course, we'll look at the essentials of Stereo 3D and get a better understanding of the world of Stereo 3D. First, we'll look at how the human brain is able to see 3D and perceive depth into the images. Next, we'll learn the various terms implied in the Stereo 3D workflow. Along the way, we'll also attempt at the main issues one might run into while making a 3D films and suggest workarounds for these issues. The aim of this course is to help technicians make a seamless transition from 2D to 3D, as 3D has penetrated every sector of visual entertainment today. Let's go onto our first lesson, and prepare to go 3D.
