This course will cover the Internet advertising business model, basic industry terminology, different advertising networks, and many more topics. Introduction Welcome to Understanding and Profiting from On-line Advertising. My name is Robbe Morris, and in this course you'll learn how to earn money operating websites as a business and not just a hobby. In fact, I'm going to share a ton of actionable intelligence acquired over the last 10 years running successful and not so successful websites. This course will cover the Internet Advertising Business Model, industry terminology, evaluating topic profitability, advertising networks, learning how to build a profitable web page, the endless battle between advertisers and publishers, and of course a great deal about the evil empires we know as search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo. We'll talk a little about 3rd party tools you might purchase or use along with some of the communities that are out there, your business structure and a little bit of insight on picking your business partner should you choose to do that, and of course planning for the future. To be sure that you know what you're getting yourself into, let's go over the business model first.
Ad Networks In the Advertising Networks module, we'll discuss how advertisers use these networks to purchase ads and how publishers can use them as research tools.
Building Profitable Web Pages - Part I In the Building Profitable Web Pages module, Part I, we'll discuss Google AdSense, ad placement, and give some insight into writing profitable web pages.
Building Profitable Web Pages - Part II In the Building Profitable Web Pages Part II module we continue our discussion of Google AdSense and ad placement, but now it's time to turn our focus to forums.
Webmaster Tools In the Webmaster Tools module, we'll discuss how to set up Google AdSense, Google Analytics, both Google and Bing Webmaster Tools, along with pointing out a few 3rd Party Tools and forums. Now, this module is not intended to be a complete how to on any of these because the tools and the screens will change pretty regularly. I just want to touch on a few key areas and concepts of each one in order to tie them into what you've already learned. Some of these tools have terms of service restrictions on making stats public, most notably AdSense, so I'll block out certain areas of the screen when it's needed. Let's get started with Google AdSense.
Real World Advice In the Real World Advice module, I'd like to share some insight about structuring your business, SEO companies, and planning for the future. Now, my comments come from, some of it's my own personal experience, as well as quite a bit from fellow business owners that I interviewed for this course.
