Course Overview Hello everyone. My name's Michael Taylor, and welcome to my course, Getting Started with Tilemapping in Unity. I mostly do contract gameplay programming for various other companies when I'm not working on my own stuff at Big Niche Games. Tilemapping is a facet of level design that focuses on reusing the same art assets seamlessly to save time. In this course, we're going to be going over Unity's tile palette tool, a tool that makes making levels easy and cost effective on both the level design and the art end. Some of the major topics that we will cover include random tiles, rule tiles, animated tiles, principles of level design, and prefab brushes. By the end of this course, you'll know how to work in Unity's tile palette system and be able to make 2D levels fast and to iterate quickly. Before beginning the course, you should be familiar with the Unity engine and its interface. I hope you'll join me for this journey to learn the tile palette and level design with the Getting Started with Tilemapping in Unity course, at Pluralsight.
