Introduction
Hi, my name is Herta Nava and it's my pleasure to welcome you to this course for Pluralsight, Introduction to Joomla. What will this course cover? I will cover all the facts, features, and other important information that you should know about Joomla, but I will also show you the practical aspects of building a website with what I believe is a great application. And this is what this course is all about. We will talk about everything Joomla is and can do. In this course we will focus on the newest release version of Joomla, which is the 3. x series. Ultimately this course can help you see if Joomla has all you need to build your website or craft a solution based on the Joomla CMS or the framework platform. By the time you finish this course, you will have a very good idea of how Joomla works, what you can do with it, what are your possibilities and how to do it quickly and efficiently. Please know that I'm not affiliated with or endorsed by the Joomla project or Open-source matters, or any other software mentioned in this course. Is this course for you? If you are considering open-source CMS platforms for creating or developing a website solution, either simple or complex. Or if you want to learn how an open-source CMS system works. Or if you want to learn all the features Joomla has, how to install a ready to use site in less than 10 minutes, configure it and manage it, then this course is definitely for you. Here are the requirements for this course considering that we will be installing the software locally. If you would like to install in a live server, you would need a hosting account and a domain name, although I suggest you try first in a local environment.
