Course Overview
Hi, everyone. I'm Heather Ackmann, and welcome to my course, Emotional Intelligence for the Remote Worker. Emotional intelligence, though a relatively new topic, has quickly become one of the most important factors for maintaining a healthy work culture. Workers with high emotional intelligence often prove to be far more effective and happier workers. In this course, we're going to explore ways to adapt emotional intelligence principles to a remote work or virtual environment. We'll apply Goldman's model of emotional intelligence to various remote working situations and learn tips for dealing with the stresses and challenges of being isolated and far removed from our coworkers and friends. Some of the major topics that we'll cover include understanding the emotional challenges of remote work, developing a routine of self care, developing clear and consistent boundaries, and creating and maintaining workplace community. By the end of this course, you'll know how to better manage your home environment to work better for you so that you feel more in control and better connected. I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn how to work better from home with the Emotional Intelligence for the Remote Worker course at Pluralsight.
