by J. Peter Bruzzese, Ed Liberman and Heather Ackmann

This bonus session from TechEd 2011 course will show you how to use Windows Server Backup with Exchange. Also, you'll learn about Microsoft certifications, and how to create an effective IT presentation

What you'll learn

Using Windows Server Backup with Exchange: We will review backup and recovery strategies, demonstrate the value and strength of Windows Server Backup and Exchange Server 2010 and work hands on to create a recovery database so we can recover mailboxes or individual mailbox items, perform a restore, configure Dial Tone Recovery and sum everything up into a nice takeaway package. Microsoft Certification: Past, Present, and the Future: We will take a look at exactly what it means to be certified and the benefits which come with certification. We will go back in time to when it all started and walk through the progression of Microsoft certification. We will talk about the changes we have seen over the years and explain the good, the bad, and the ugly that came with those changes. Creating an Effective IT Presentation: Students will learn the basics for what makes a presentation effective, as well as some specific ways to structure a procurement presentation, a training session, or even how to lead a more informative presentation designed to explore a problem and weigh the pros and cons of possible solutions. Students will also explore common pitfalls of IT presentations and learn about some helpful tools and must-have PowerPoint add-ins.
