Hello. My name is Alice Meredith. Welcome to my course, Work Life Balance: A New Perspective. I am a business professional and have over 30 years of leadership experience with business management and human resources as my specialties. All of us, men and women, struggle to find the perfect balance between time spent at work and time spent with family, friends, and with our personal interests. Teachings in this course are geared to benefit everyone, from the highest of executives down to the entry position in any field. Each of us, no matter our level or position, are challenged with finding that perfect balance that allows us to find both achievement and enjoyment in all our life roles and responsibilities. Due to advancing technologies and being connected 24/7, the definition of a typical workday is always changing, and with these changes come additional challenges when it comes to finding a positive and healthy work-life balance. In this course, we'll explore the benefits of having a good work-life balance, and we'll learn how this balance connects with our own inner individual balance. We'll learn the value of time ownership, truly in choosing and owning how we spend time each day to ensure both our career and personal responsibilities receive the attention they need. You will learn to identify your desired work style. Are you a segmentor who likes clear lines between your work and personal responsibilities, or do you prefer an integrating style, that of blending and merging your work and personal life together? You'll learn the value of improving your personal engagement and the payoff you receive in return when you show up more fully engaged and committed to both work and life responsibilities. You will also hear many proven tips and tricks from others who have found their own healthy work-life balance. Daily Personal Balance Equates to Greater Work Life Balance
In the prior module, we introduced the first of our three prerequisites to help us achieve work-life balance, that of starting first with our own individual balance. In this module, I'll be sharing concepts that, if utilized, will help us on our journey of acquiring that personal balance. I'll also introduce our second prerequisite that is required to achieve work-life balance, that of taking full ownership of our time. As we move forward with our learnings, I'll be referencing our teeter-totter story. We'll use this clipart to help tie it all together.

Improving Engagement to Elevate Work and Personal Life Balance
Welcome back. In this module, I'll be introducing our third prerequisite to achieving a healthy and happy work-life balance, engagement. You might be thinking say what? How does the level of engagement I give towards what I do impact my ability to find balance? Well, hang with me. Great questions and teachings in this module will answer those. We'll dig into what engagement is and how it shows up both in our careers and in our personal lives. I'll share a key element, which is vital to help you elevate your engagement levels. I'll then wrap up with return on our invested time, the what's in it for me approach when I invest and give more of me to my life roles. Engagement, our third prerequisite to achieving work-life balance.

Sustaining a Work Life Balance: Tips and Tricks
In this module, you will learn proven techniques that many life coaches use as a guide when helping others find balance in their responsibilities. We kick of this module learning about integrators and segmentors. Due to technology advances, we are globally connected 24/7. These learnings will help us know when and if we should blend our work and life responsibilities. We will next spend time talking about achievement and enjoyment and how we want them to show up together as one. Then we'll wrap up this module in a fast-paced review of tips from those who feel they have mastered the work.

Fostering a Healthy Work Life Balance for your Employees
This module is designed for the business owners and people leaders. I want to quickly clarify here a people leader is anyone who has responsibility for others. If your title is a lead, supervisor, shift manager, manager, it's all one in the same, a leader, a people leader. In this module, we will first quickly review benefits to the organizations that support and encourages work-life balances for each of their employees. I'll then share directional techniques that will help people leaders better support and encourage their employees to find balance both in the work and in their personal lives.
