In the talk Dana Ross spoke about the features of the camera and the improvements. “The ARRI Rental Group has been working diligently over the past 18 months in order to bring an exciting new camera to the market. This new camera fulfills the answer to offer much higher resolution while still maintaining the aesthetic of 65mm. It has the look and the depth that are characteristic of the large format image circle cameras.” Dana continued going over the new features of the camera, “The ALEXIS 65 utilizes a sensor slightly bigger than 65mm five per film. The sensor has a diagonal of 61mm and our system incorporates a new processing unit in a codex vault in order to process the large 6.5 ARRIRAW camera files.” The workflow for the ALEXIS 65 is going to be very similar to the ALEXA 65 with the biggest difference between the two cameras being that the ALEXIS 65 has a much larger native resolution in open gate.
