With AI answers at our fingertips, the way people learn and validate new skills is changing. We’ve rolled out new features so organizations can keep up with the tech landscape, meet their learners where they are, and build validated readiness across their workforce.
From MCP capabilities to new assessments and analytics, learn how these updates streamline the learning experience and connect upskilling to business outcomes.
Pluralsight AI MCP brings learning into the flow of work
According to the Tech Skills Report, 96% of organizations have invested in AI tools for at least some of their employees, and 56% have adopted them for most or all of their people.
If your teams are already using AI tools, why not give them access to reliable learning content in the flow of work? Pluralsight AI MCP (Model Context Protocol) makes that a reality.
Pluralsight AI MCP is a secure connector that brings our expert courses, labs, and skill assessments directly into the AI tools your teams already use. This means they can generate personal learning guides, ask questions, and learn within Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and more without switching tabs or disrupting their process.
As a leader, you can use AI MCP to conduct ROI analysis directly through your AI tool.* Uncover the impact learning has on your specific business objectives and surface the data needed to prove business impact to C-level stakeholders.
MCP also uses your organization's proprietary data and employee context to personalize responses—but that data never leaves your systems.
Altogether, Pluralsight AI MCP provides:
Trusted content, not open-web guesswork. Your people get vetted, expert-built answers—not whatever the open web serves up.
Security by design. Your organization's code, internal wikis, HR data, and team context stay completely private. MCP passes secure internal context to power relevant recommendations without exposing your IP or introducing compliance risk.
Upskilling at scale. Learners, tech leaders, and L&D professionals use the same underlying platform. You aren’t stitching together point solutions.
Pluralsight AI MCP will be available on October 15, 2026 at no additional cost for existing customers. Reach out to your account representative to get started.
Skill IQ Suite™ offers new assessments to validate employee tech skills
77% of tech executives have seen employees complete training or earn certifications and still not be able to use those skills in their day-to-day work. 68% of practitioners have reported the same.
Skill IQ Suite™, a collection of different skill assessments designed for different stages of the upskilling journey, gives you a better way to validate employee capability and readiness for real-world work.
Skill IQ Discovery™
Skill IQ Discovery™, formerly Skill IQ™, is a quick, comparative assessment that shows a learner where they stand compared to their peers. This timed, multiple-choice assessment provides a starting point with learning recommendations. As such, it works best for established, widely adopted technologies.
Skill IQ Prep™
Skill IQ Prep™, formerly Practice Exams, is a realistic, certification practice exam aligned to industry standards. It helps learners prepare, identify weak areas, and build confidence before they sit for the real exam.
Skill IQ Verified™
Skill IQ Verified™ is a brand new objective, standards-based assessment that confirms if a learner is proficient in a certain skill. This relies on a formal blueprint, expert-reviewed items, and a structured cut-score process. With clear Passed or Not Passed results, this assessment allows leaders and learners to confirm skill readiness.
New analytics show the value of your learning investments
65% of organizations use proof of skill or competency (like completed certifications or assessments) to measure upskilling ROI. But leaders need more than completion metrics to gain a full picture of employee upskilling and its value for the business. We’ve enhanced our in-platform analytics experience to reflect this.
Progress percentage replaces completion rate for more accurate tracking
Previously, analytics tracked completion rates to measure employees’ upskilling progress. A 5-minute video and a 3-hour lab contributed the exact same amount, even though the effort needed to complete those experiences differed widely.
Now, analytics tracks progress. Each task is weighted by duration, so a demanding lab contributes more than a quick video. This progress percentage actually reflects your team’s effort and learning investment, not just the number of tasks they clicked through. This gives you more accurate and reliable learning metrics.
New metrics to track employee engagement
We’ve also introduced three new metrics to better capture employee engagement and upskilling ROI:
Learning Time. This captures the amount of time employees spend across courses, hands-on labs, and assessments. It replaces Video View Time, which measured only time spent on videos.
Practice Time. This measures the amount of time employees spend in open environments like cloud servers and sandboxes.
Total Time. This combines Learning Time and Practice Time into a single metric that measures engagement across every modality in the platform.
Streamlined UI for leader analytics
We’ve given the entire leader analytics interface a refresh, including redesigned navigation, layout, and terminology.
Most notably, we’ve added two tabs to help you find the information you need faster:
By Learning Type. This allows you to see how specific courses, labs, and assessments are performing across your team.
By Learner. This allows you to see full analytics reports for specific employees.
New Analytics dashboard for learners
Learners are getting their own Analytics page for the first time. This dashboard shows their Progress Percentage and Learning Time across all content types.
The metrics on the learner dashboard will always match the metrics their managers see in the leader dashboard.
New course translations for German, Spanish, and Canadian French
Last but not least, Pluralsight has expanded our existing translations library. On top of our existing catalog, we’ve added:
1,300+ additional courses translated into German and Spanish
1,700+ new courses translated into Canadian French
Translated courses include both audio and captions. We continue to support closed captioning in 75 languages.
