Installing a DEB Package
In this hands-on lab, we will install a DEB package on an Ubuntu system. On Debian-based Linux distributions, we can install deb packages using the `dpkg` command. This gives us the hands on experience of installing and removing deb packages directly, without the use of a more comprehensive package manager like apt.

Challenge
Install the `htop` DEB
Note: Please wait an extra 6-7 minutes before starting the lab to make sure the lock on dpkg has been released.

The
htop
DEB package is located in thecloud_user
home directory. In order to install the package, we need to elevate our permissions.Use the following command to install the package (Note: If you receive a dpkg lock error, you can wait till the boot time scripts have finished, then proceed):
sudo dpkg -i htop_2.0.2-1_amd64.deb

Run the `htop` Application
- Now that
htop
is installed, we can run it with thehtop
command:
htop
This utility shows us system load and running processes. 2. Press Q to exit the application.

Remove the `htop` Package
- Use
dpkg
to remove thehtop
package:
sudo dpkg --remove htop
