Setting a Static IP
In this learning activity, you will take the DHCP assigned IP address and assign it as a static IP. This is an unforgiving exercise. If you misconfigure the IP address settings, you will need to restart the lab.

Configure Static IPs
In your career you will need to work with a variety of hardware and device names. In this lab, for this generation of hardware, the network interface DEVICE will normally be eth0. If you observe a different interface DEVICE id for the primary interface adjust the scripts to make use of that DEVICE id.
nmcli con mod System\ eth0 ipv4.method manual ipv4.addresses 10.0.1.10/24 ipv4.gateway 10.0.1.1 ipv4.dns 10.0.0.2 ipv4.dns-search ec2.internal
Verify That the Address Is Now Set Manually, Not Dynamically
nmcli con show System\ eth0 | grep ipv4
systemctl restart network
