Add Existing Data Disk to a VM in Azure
In this lab, you’ll act as an Azure administrator who must retire a VM but preserve the application’s data. You’ll identify and detach a managed data disk from the source VM, then attach that disk—containing a test text file—to a replacement VM in the same resource group, confirming the file remains intact after attachment. By the end, you’ll understand the end‑to‑end lifecycle of Azure VM data disks and how to move them safely between VMs.
