Hey everyone. My name is Christopher Rees, and welcome to my course, Attacks, Threats, and Vulnerabilities for CompTIA Security+. I'm both a Pluralsight author and a senior ITOps leader with over 20 years of enterprise IT experience that spans creating training and teaching students around the world and managing enterprise teams that engineer solutions that serve millions of customers daily. When it comes to security, Security+ is one of the premier certifications for those who are entering or advancing their careers in cybersecurity. Understanding the attacks, threats, and vulnerabilities companies face is a critical skill required in securing a company's valuable assets. The rate at which attacks are attempted and the various methods used are significantly increasing all the time. In this course, we're going to cover the details of the various types of attacks, threats, and vulnerabilities you'll face in the real world. Some of the major topics that we'll cover include social engineering attacks and techniques, analyzing malware, network, and other types of attacks, understanding threat vectors and intelligence gathering, threat hunting and security assessments, along with the basics of penetration testing. By the end of this course, you'll have a good understanding of the skills, tools, and knowledge required to assess and mitigate risks, as well as remediate vulnerabilities within your organization.
