Azure Arc-enabled Data Services are Microsoft’s answer to the question how you can deploy services like a SQL Managed Instance or a PostgreSQL Hyperscale Server Group, that were previously limited to the Azure Cloud, to any other cloud or infrastructure. In this course, Azure Arc-enabled Data Services: The Big Picture, you’ll learn what Azure Arc-enabled data services are and how to deploy and manage them. First, you’ll explore the purpose of Azure Arc in general and more specifically Azure Arc-enabled data services. Next, you’ll discover how to deploy your own Azure Arc-enabled data services. Finally, you’ll learn how to use, operate, and manage them. When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge of Azure Arc-enabled data services needed to evaluate if these are the right solution for your hybrid data strategy.
Course Overview Hi. My name is Ben Weissman, founder and data passionlist at Solisyon. Welcome to my course, Azure Arc‑enabled Data Services: The Big Picture. Azure Arc‑enable data services are Microsoft's answer to the question how you can deploy services like a SQL‑managed instance or a PostgreSQL Hyperscale server group that were previously limited to the Azure Cloud, to any cloud, or any infrastructure. They allow you to manage and deploy all your data state no matter where it's located through the Azure portal, but can also be manage locally through a variety of cross‑platform tools. This course is your fast track to understand Azure Arc‑enable data services. Some of the major topics we will cover include fundamentals of Kubernetes, the base layer of Azure Arc‑enabled data services, use cases for Azure Arc‑enabled data services, as well as its architecture. We will also take a look how to deploy Azure Arc‑enabled data services to your own infrastructure, how Azure Arc‑enabled data services are connected to the Azure Cloud, and how to manage and monitor Azure Arc‑enable data services, both locally and through the Azure portal. By the end of this course, you will know what Azure Arc‑enabled data services are, when to use them, and what it takes to deploy and manage them. Before beginning this course, you should be familiar with either SQL Server or Postgres, as well as the organization of resources in Azure. While having at least basic knowledge about Kubernetes is helpful, I will provide you with enough fundamentals that this is not a requirement. I hope you will join me on this journey to learn more about Azure Arc‑enabled data services with the Azure Arc‑enabled Data Services: The Big Picture course, at Pluralsight.
