Description

In this series of CINEMA 4D tutorials, we will use the robust and user-friendly muscle system in CINEMA 4D to enhance the realism of an animated creature. We will learn how to strategically build an efficient muscle rig to create and maintain volume. We'll cover how to customize a muscle's shape and behavior, as well as how to prevent muscle objects from interpenetrating through geometry. We'll even learn how to apply muscle dynamics to create natural secondary deformations for weight! By the end of this tutorial, you will be equipped with the knowledge you need to incorporate CINEMA 4D's new muscle system into your own rigging pipeline. Software required: CINEMA 4D R13.

Introduction and Project Overview
Hi, I'm Delano, and I'll be your guide as we break down the features of the new muscle system in Cinema 4D R13. Building a stable muscle rig that can withstand the pressures of complex performances is very challenging. Thankfully, the system is a robust one and also very user-friendly, which means that with it, we'll be able to enhance the overall realism of our deformations with less effort, ultimately allowing us to save time. So, in this course, we'll start with an animated creature who's deformations lack a sense of weight and believability. From there, we'll start to strategically build an efficient muscle rig to create and maintain volume. We'll cover how to customize the muscle shape and behavior, so we'll just learn how to prevent muscle objects from interpenetrating through geometry. We'll even learn how to apply muscle dynamics to create natural secondary deformations for weight. By the end of this tutorial, you'll be equipped with the knowledge you need to incorporate Cinema 4D's new muscle system into your own rigging pipeline, so let's begin.
