Although it's possible to create amazing images in Photoshop, you may have discovered that the software isn't really built for true experimentation and creativity. This is because by nature, Photoshop works in a linear manner - and this can be very limiting when it comes to experimenting. In this course, Photoshop CC Non-destructive Methods to Enhance Creativity, you'll learn methods that give you virtually unlimited freedom to experiment and let your creative juices flow. First, you'll cover the drawback of relying on the History Brush and Panel, and multiple undos. Next, you'll explore how to leverage Smart Filters and Smart Objects for creative experimentation. Finally, you'll learn about the power of using Adjustment Layers and Camera Raw Smart Objects, and how to use lessor-known layer blending options to open up more creative choices. When you're finished with this course, you'll have a wide range of skills to implement non-destructive methods in Photoshop, that will allow you to focus on being creative with virtually unlimited freedom to experiment. Software required: Photoshop CC.

Hi everyone, my name is Dave Cross and welcome to my course Photoshop CC Non-Destructive Methods to Enhance Creativity. I am full-time Photoshop Educator. I taught my first Photoshop class in 1990.

Photoshop is an amazing program that lets you be very creative – but sometimes it’s challenging to get the results you want, because by nature, Photoshop works in a linear manner.

In this course, we are going to explore non-destructive methods that help you experiment and let your creative juices flow – in ways that work around the linear nature of Photoshop.

Some of the major topics that we will cover include:

  1. How to use Smart Filters and Smart Objects for unlimited flexibility
  2. Using Adjustment Layers and Masks in creative ways
  3. Advanced Blending Options that open up tons of creative possibilities
  4. and we’ll build two projects that use these non-destructive methods
By the end of this course you’ll be able to implement non-destructive methods that will help enhance your creativity in Photoshop.

Before beginning the course you should be familiar with the basics of Photoshop such as Layers.

I hope you’ll join me on this journey to learn creativity in Photoshop with the Photoshop CC Non-Destructive Methods to Enhance Creativity course, at Pluralsight.
