What you'll learn

In this session: an introduction to the Salesforce platform at a high level. First, an overview of the administrative layer of Salesforce: custom objects, the database, and the Flow automation tool's capabilities. Next, an explanation of Salesforce transactions and the role played be governor limits in designing solutions for the platform. Then, high level comparisons of how certain programs or tasks may be designed in C# vs. how they would be done in the Salesforce Apex programming language, running on the Salesforce platform. Finally, an overview of where to find more resources, like the Salesforce Visual Studio Code extensions, the command line interface, and learning materials on Pluralsight and Trailhead. A round of Q&A will close out the session.

Scott Lee

Scott is the CEO of Elega Corporation, a videogame developer and educational content creator, and a Salesforce architect in the energy industry. He has produced business applications as a professional programmer for a decade across industries including litigation support, renewable energy, and natural gas using programming languages such as Python, Rust, C#, and database technologies. Under Elega Corporation, Scott is the lead designer and programmer on their city management game, Kalling Kingdom, first released in 2019. His formal education is in behavioral science with a BS in psychology and sociology from the University of Houston.
