Dave has been both teaching and working with design software for the past 25 years. A machinist by trade, he has learned design software from the end user’s point of view. Working with solid modeling software for the past 15 years he has had the opportunity to explore a wide range of its uses with an emphasis on CADD/CAM. He has been teaching SolidWorks at the secondary, post-secondary, and industry levels for the past 8 years. Many of the custom industry trainings are a mix of both CAD and CAM software. He has co-developed two successful video training curriculums which teach the use of SolidWorks and culminate with the CSWA exam. He holds a Masters degree from Utah State University in Industrial Technology and Education and CSWA, CSWP Core, CSWP Advanced Weldments, and ADDA Mechanical certifications. He presently works at Carbon County Higher Education Center in Rawlins, Wyoming where his everyday classes focus on teaching SolidWorks both face to face and via distance education.
