Kane McKenzie

Kane has worked in IT professionally for over 30 years; however, his love for technology started far earlier with the Atari 2600, Commodore 64, and Coleco Adam to name a few. He was eagerly enrolled in programming classes at a local community college while still in junior high. Kane has always enjoyed helping others understand technology, solve problems, and utilize technology to make life easier. He earned his B.S. in Computer Science, Systems Option, at UNCW while serving as the Apple Mac Rep during his time as a student. Kane has held numerous roles throughout his career including Help Desk Support, Software Engineering with FORTRAN, C, and Visual C++., and this these most recent 18+ years working with Oracle Database as a Database Administrator. Kane has worked with Oracle Database from version 10g through 19c. He’s utilized single instance, RAC, Clusterware, ASM, and worked with DataGuard, Exadata, and OCI. Kane’s Oracle experience includes installation, security, troubleshooting, patching, upgrade, and performance optimization, to name a few. He earned his OCA certifications in Oracle Database and Oracle OCI Foundations. He’s excited about the opportunity to help you learn Oracle Database and be successful in your own career as a DBA.
