Agentic AI is becoming an important part of how developers build software and how they add intelligent behavior into applications. In this course, Agentic AI Fundamentals in the Microsoft Ecosystem, you’ll learn how the main Microsoft tools fit together and how to build your first simple code-first .NET agent. First, you’ll explore the core concepts behind LLMs and agents, and get a good overview of the Microsoft agent ecosystem. Next, you’ll use GitHub Copilot to understand and prepare an existing .NET application before adding agentic behavior to it. Then, you’ll learn to build a Pie Shop Operations Agent using Microsoft Agent Framework, Microsoft.Extensions.AI, and a model deployed in Microsoft Foundry. Finally, you’ll discover what changes when an agent moves beyond a demo, and discover the “running concerns” for agents. When you’re finished with this course, you’ll understand the Microsoft agent landscape and have the foundation needed to start building agentic AI features in .NET applications.
