Hi everyone, my name is Ben Piper, and welcome to my course, Architecting for Operational Excellence on AWS. I'm an AWS Certified Solutions Architect and coauthor of the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Study Guide. In the cloud, operations are fast and frequent and require broad knowledge of a lot of AWS services. Common tasks include deploying AWS infrastructure, documenting infrastructure, deploying new applications, performing application updates, tracking changes, and gathering information for compliance reports, just to name a few. It's a lot of work. But in this course, you'll learn how to automate much of it using these AWS services: CloudFormation; EC2 Auto Scaling; the AWS Developer Tools including CodeCommit, CodeDeploy, and CodePipeline; AWS Systems Manager; and CloudWatch Events and AWS Config. By the end of this course, you'll know how to automate many common operational tasks. Before beginning the course, you should be familiar with AWS Virtual Private Cloud, EC2 instances, Identity and Access Management, Application Load Balancers, and Auto Scaling.
