What you'll learn

New AWS practitioners know their workloads require compute, but the EC2 launch wizard is full of choices with no obvious right answer, and a “successful” launch doesn’t mean a working server. In this course, AWS Compute Fundamentals, you’ll gain the ability to stand up and trust a basic EC2 instance.

First, you’ll explore where instance-based compute fits and the everyday workloads it’s built for.

Next, you’ll discover how to launch a simple instance and prove it’s actually running and reachable.

Finally, you’ll learn how to diagnose a misbehaving instance and tell EC2 apart from container and serverless options.

When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge needed to confidently launch, verify, and troubleshoot basic AWS compute.
