What you'll learn
Event-driven workloads depend on AWS Lambda functions that trigger correctly, are observable, and can recover when they degrade. In this course, AWS Serverless Compute Operations, you'll gain the ability to implement, operate, and recover event-driven AWS Lambda functions and to judge when Lambda is the right compute choice. First, you'll explore when Lambda fits a workload and when it doesn't, and then create a function and configure its runtime, identity, and resource settings to match the workload. Next, you'll discover how to connect functions to synchronous, asynchronous, and poll-based event sources and verify each trigger produces a successful invocation end to end. Finally, you'll learn how to interpret invocation logs and metrics, distinguish cold starts from warm invocations, diagnose and recover throttled and failed invocations, and diagnose invocation-time permission errors. When you're finished with this course, you'll have the skills and knowledge of event-driven Lambda implementation, operation, and recovery needed to build and maintain production-grade serverless workloads on AWS.
