What you'll learn

This course, Citrix XenDesktop 7.15 LTSR: Citrix Policies, User Profiles, and Workspace Environment Management, continues with the installation and configuration of your XenDesktop environment with a focus on the end user's experience: the look-and-feel, the allowed attached devices, and the entirety of what administrators allow (and don't allow) when users log in. Accomplishing this task isn't something that's done from a single console, nor even a single product or technology. Managing the user's experience in XenDesktop requires a combination of tactics that range from Active Directory Group Policies, to Citrix Policies, to Workspace Environment Management, to even Citrix App Layering. In this sixth course out of seven, you'll explore the art and science in Citrix Policy configuration. First, you'll see how policies are configured; and, then for the art, you'll walk through the long list of policies as you learn which can be useful and which can be safely ignored. Next, you'll delve into the special considerations needed in managing user profiles across both the Citrix Profile Management and Workspace Environment Management Solutions. Finally, you'll dig into application layering with Citrix's App Layering solution, where you'll get to see how fracturing a Windows desktop into its many disparate components can make it easier to deploy and manage over time. By the end of this course, you'll have a strong familiarity with the right tools you'll need to best manage your XenDesktop users' experience.
