Description

Take a look in this course at the central core, the communication broker that connects XenDesktop's components together, that being XenDesktop Delivery Controller. In that central location, Delivery Controller's job starts with accepting incoming user requests, and, based on the rules you configure, connecting each individual to the right application or desktop inside the data center. In this second course out of seven, Citrix XenDesktop 7.15 LTSR: Delivery Controller, you'll first begin with a high-level look at everything that makes a XenDesktop deployment, the sum total of components that connect users to their applications and desktops. Next, you'll install Delivery Controller and the XenServer hypervisor. Finally, you will dig into Citrix Licensing. By the time you're finished, you'll have walked through some initial configurations in the Citrix Studio management console.

Course Overview
Hey, this is Greg Shields, and you've found the second course in my learning path on installing and managing Citrix XenDesktop version 7. 15 LTSR. I am author evangelist and a full-time author here at Pluralsight, and I've been building, managing, and helping others with Citrix environments since the days this product was known as WinFrame. First off in our exploration, we take a look at the central core, the literal communication broker that connects XenDesktop's components together, that being Citrix's Delivery Controller. In that central location, Delivery Controller's job starts with accepting incoming user requests, and based on the rules that we configure, connecting each individual to the right application or desktop inside our data center. In this second course out of seven, we begin by taking a high-level look at everything that makes a XenDesktop deployment the sum total of components that connect users to their applications and desktops. From there, we'll install Delivery Controller, as well as our XenServer hypervisor. We'll dig into Citrix licensing, and walk through some initial configurations in the Citrix Studio Management Console. If you've just been tasked with building a new Citrix XenDesktop environment, this course is your next stop in brushing up on those skills for success. And then from here, you'll be ready to continue on the learning path as we explore Machine Creation Services, Provisioning Services, StoreFront, Receiver, and NetScaler, Policies and Profiles, and Citrix Director. Let's get started.
