What you'll learn

Passing the CKA exam starts with understanding what you're administering and how to interact with it under time pressure. In this course, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA): Kubernetes Foundations, you'll gain the ability to navigate, query, and manage a Kubernetes cluster with confidence and speed. First, you'll explore the control plane and node architecture that powers every cluster, including the CRI, CNI, and CSI extension interfaces now tested on the exam, while building a local multi-node environment with kind that mirrors the exam's six-cluster setup. Next, you'll discover kubectl workflows optimized for exam speed: imperative commands, the dry-run-to-YAML pipeline, kubectl explain for field discovery, and the label selector patterns that experienced administrators rely on daily. Finally, you'll learn how to create and manage core resources (Pods, Deployments, Services, and Namespaces) and develop the get, describe, logs, events diagnostic pattern that you'll use in every troubleshooting scenario across the remaining courses. When you're finished with this course, you'll have the foundational skills and knowledge of Kubernetes cluster operations needed to confidently progress through the CKA skill path and begin hands-on exam preparation.
