Every security program depends on a shared foundation of concepts, controls, processes, and cryptography. In this course, CompTIA Security+ (SY0-801): General Security Concepts, you’ll gain the ability to explain and apply the foundational security concepts that underpin every other Security+ domain. First, you’ll explore security concepts and controls, including defense in depth, the CIA triad, AAA, Zero Trust, and the categories and types of security controls. Next, you’ll discover how change management processes, from CAB approvals and impact analysis to backout planning and documentation, affect security. Finally, you’ll learn how to select appropriate cryptographic solutions, including PKI, certificates, encryption, hashing, salting, and digital signatures. When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge of general security concepts needed to succeed on Domain 1 of the CompTIA Security+ (SY0-801) exam and in real-world security roles.
