Course Overview
Hey everyone. My name is Craig Stansbury, and welcome to my course, Create a Home Networking Lab Using Network Emulation. I'm a network security consultant for my company, StansTECH. Without a way to practice what you are learning when watching a Pluralsight course, it is much harder to fully grasp the concepts and commands. In this course, we will learn how to create a home networking lab so you can follow along with any networking course. Some of the major topics that we will cover include how to determine which hypervisor is right for you and install it, how to determine which network emulation software is right for you and how to install that, and how to import the necessary devices to be emulated into your software of choice. By the end of this course, you'll know how to put all these pieces together to create a networking lab so you can practice and follow along with your favorite Pluralsight courses. Before beginning this course, you should be familiar with basic TCP/IP concepts and basic computer hardware components like RAM, CPU, and hard drives. From here, you should feel comfortable diving into network security with courses on describing and configuring VPNs, network security fundamentals, and configure Palo Alto firewalls in a home lab. I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn how you can use network emulation to create a home lab with the Create a Home Networking Lab Using Network Emulation course, at Pluralsight.
