Understanding Phonegap, Jquery Mobile, and Dreamweaver
Dreamweaver is a great tool for writing code. You can use it to create responsive websites or even use it to create mobile apps built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. In this course, Dreamweaver CC Mobile with PhoneGap we'll explore the process for building a mobile app using HTML5. Along the way you'll work with jQuery Mobile to easily shape out the user interface for the app, then use PhoneGap to connect to device features and package the app for distribution. The course is split into six lessons that walk through introduction to implementation. In lesson 1, you'll learn the basic concepts of hybrid mobile design and what technologies are involved. In lesson 2, you'll learn how to work with jQuery Mobile and Dreamweaver. In lesson 3, you'll learn how to work with the PhoneGap apps as you build a logger to test features on your device. And in lessons 4 through 6, you'll take the concept further by building a simple travel journal app. We'll end in lesson 6 with a brief overview of packaging your app in Adobe PhoneGap Build and we'll talk about where to go next. And don't worry if that sounds a little confusing. This course is designed with the Dreamweaver user in mind. If you're used to visual code design, this course is for you. We'll work with Dreamweaver in the center of the coding info and use the Adobe PhoneGap Desktop and Adobe PhoneGap Developer apps to create project files and preview them on your device. The course also covers how to structure your app using JavaScript, but we'll keep it simple, focusing on expanding the approach provided by the PhoneGap project template files. In the end, you'll have a solid understanding of how to start working with mobile app design in Dreamweaver and how to work with jQuery Mobile and PhoneGap to create and preview features on your device. So join me in exploring hybrid app design in Dreamweaver and get started building your next mobile app today.
