FastMCP Foundations
This course teaches you how to use FastMCP to streamline Model Context Protocol (MCP) development. It covers setup, workflow, core features, pros/cons, and demos for building clients, servers, and plugins.
What you'll learn
The AI developer landscape is shifting quickly as more teams adopt the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect LLMs with external tools, APIs, and resources. But without a solid grasp of how FastMCP simplifies this ecosystem—what it is, how it works, and when to use it—developers risk wasting time on complex setups or deploying fragile prototypes.
In this course, FastMCP Foundations, you’ll learn how to accelerate MCP development with FastMCP.
First, you’ll look at the fundamentals: what FastMCP is, how it compares to standard MCP, and why it’s often called the “Express.js for MCP.”
Next, you’ll learn practical skills, from setting up a client or server to using middleware, plugins, and structured message handling for scalable workflows.
Finally, you’ll tackle real-world demos and best practices for debugging, monitoring, and knowing when (and when not) to use FastMCP in production.
When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the knowledge and hands-on experience to build, run, and extend MCP clients and servers with speed and confidence.
