Course Overview
Hi there. My name is Amber Israelsen, and welcome to my course, Formatting Excel Objects. I've been working with and teaching Excel for many years. Like a lot of people, I started with the basics of data entry and formulas, and then moved into more advanced features like macros and Visual Basic for application programming. I use Excel almost everyday for calculations, organization, and reporting. It's a very powerful tool that's used in all areas of business all over the world today. In this course, you'll learn how to take your Excel worksheets from average to awesome, using advanced features of object formatting. First, you'll see how to insert text boxes, shapes, and pictures. From there, you'll explore how to format those objects to more effectively illustrate your data and message, while taking accessibility into account. Finally, you'll see how to work with charts, applying layouts and styles, adjusting size and location, and adding and modifying various chart elements. When you're finished with this course, you'll have an advanced understanding of Excel objects and how to format them for maximum effect. This course is targeted to data analysts and business intelligence or BI analysts. However, it will also be useful to anybody who uses Excel, whether you're a program or project manager, a team lead, an IT ops person, or a developer who occasionally has to use Excel in your job. To be most successful with this course, you should have some familiarity with Excel and basic data literacy skills. I hope you'll join me in this journey in Formatting Excel Objects at Pluralsight.
