Foundations of GitHub Security
GitHub repos are vulnerable to security threats without the right protections. This course will teach you how to secure GitHub repositories using GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) as well as native GitHub security features.
What you'll learn
Security risks like secret leaks and dependency vulnerabilities are rising in modern software projects. In this course, Foundations of GitHub Security, you’ll gain the ability to assess and secure repositories using GitHub’s native security tooling. First, you’ll explore common threats and GitHub’s default protections. Next, you’ll discover how GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) enhances security with code scanning, secret scanning, and dependency review. Finally, you’ll learn how to prepare and enable GHAS for your own projects. When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge of GitHub security needed to protect your code and support enterprise DevSecOps workflows.
