A single Compute Engine instance can't absorb a traffic spike or survive its own failure, leaving teams to deal with outages. In this course, Google Compute Engine Autoscaling and Load Balancing Operations, you’ll gain the ability to operate a resilient, elastic instance-backed service and to reason about its fit. First, you’ll explore how to build a horizontally scaled instance group and front it with an external Application Load Balancer driven by a health signal. Next, you’ll discover how to verify convergence and traffic distribution, exercise replacement and scale events, and diagnose unhealthy members and failed creations. Finally, you’ll learn how to evaluate when Compute Engine is the appropriate compute primitive and when a workload has outgrown it. When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge of Compute Engine autoscaling and load balancing operations needed to run instance-backed services that stay available under load.
