Course Overview
(Music) Hi, everyone. My name is Thomas Henson, and welcome to my course, Hortonworks Data Platform Enterprise Skills. I'm a data engineer advocate in the data analytics community. Hortonworks is the top big data platform that is 100% open source, built for the big data community, by the big data community. In fact, all the code Hortonworks produces is put back into that open source community. This course is going to focus on the enterprise skills needed for data engineers to build and support the critical applications in the Hadoop ecosystem. With Hadoop being such a big topic, it's great for data engineers to understand what these enterprise skills are. Some of the major topics that we'll cover include how to manage users, groups, and permissions in HDP, data protection for those critical data and applications, sharing resources from both a capacity and a compute perspective, and then exploring some of the enterprise certification options in HDP. By the end of this course, you'll know the skills enterprise data engineers need to know to succeed in building Hadoop clusters for enterprise users. Before beginning this course, you should be familiar with the Hortonworks Data Platform, HDFS, and have some basic Linux skills. I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn enterprise skills for data engineers, with the Hortonworks Data Platform Enterprise Skills course, at Pluralsight.
