Course Overview
(Music) Hi everyone. My name is Thomas Henson, and welcome to my course, Installing and Configuring Splunk. I'm a data engineering advocate in the data analytics community. Let me just tell you, I love all things data, and Splunk is one of my very favorite tools for analyzing and processing data. In this course, we're going to find out how Splunk works in the enterprise for data analytics and why it's such a great tool for that. Then we're going to explore some of the different roles like Splunk administrator, Splunk user, and Splunk architect. Then we're going to flip over and get hands on and learn to install and configure your very own Splunk development environment. After that, we're going to understand what the different environments that we can install Splunk in. Can we install it in Linux? Can we install it in a Windows environment? What about Mac? But in this course, you'll know all the answers to those questions and have your own development environment. Before beginning this course, you should be familiar with basic Windows and Linux administration tasks. From here, you should be comfortable diving in to Splunk Enterprise with courses on how the basic components of Splunk architecture are configured, like indexers, search heads, and also forwarders; installing Splunk Enterprise in a Windows, Linux, and Mac environment; navigating the Splunk Enterprise interface for simple searches, and more. I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn Splunk Enterprise with the Installing and Configuring Splunk course, here at Pluralsight.
