Course Overview
Hi everyone, my name is Mike Callaghan, and welcome to my course, Ionic Framework Tools and Patterns. I started writing code as a hobby in 1981 on an HP 2000 minicomputer, and have been doing so professionally for more than 20 years now. It seems that everyone wants to do mobile development these days, and the Ionic Framework is one of the hottest technologies to help do just that. In this course we're going to take the next step and learn to build more complex apps than those typically covered in tutorials. Some of the major topics that we'll cover include, prototyping a UI with Ionic Creator, employing tools such as Yeoman and gulp to help scaffold and consistently build our apps, moving past the browser with the iOS Simulator and using Ionic View to share our app with others, and finally, interacting with the native hardware on both Android and iPhones. By the end of this course, you'll know just how easy it can be to build real-world functioning mobile apps with the Ionic Framework. Before beginning this course, you should be familiar with the basics of web development, HTML5, JavaScript, and Angular. It will also help if you already have done a few of the Ionic tutorials. I hope you'll join me on this journey and learn more about mobile app development with the Ionic Framework Tools and Patterns course at Pluralsight.
