Course Overview
Hi everyone. I'm Ben Piper, independent IT consultant and published author, and welcome to my course, Troubleshooting Cisco Networks: Layer 2 Protocols for CCNP Routing and Switching. This is the introductory course to prepare you for the CCNP TSHOOT exam, troubleshooting and maintaining Cisco IP networks, which is part of the Cisco CCNP routing and switching track. At this point, you should have already completed all courses in a route and switch series. In this six-course series, I'm going to teach you how to troubleshoot almost any Cisco networking problem. Whether you're pursuing your CCNP Routing and Switching certification or just want to know how to troubleshoot your own routers and switches, this course is just for you. Troubleshooting isn't just about solving problems, it's about solving them quickly, and to do that, you need a solid troubleshooting method you can apply to any networking problem no matter how big or small. In this series, you'll learn how to troubleshoot the foundational Layer 2 technologies that underpin more complex technologies like IPv4 and IPv6, dynamic routing protocols, DHCP, IWA Security features, and more. This isn't just theory. You're going to learn in-depth, hands-on techniques for troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches. By the end of this course, you'll have the confidence to approach any Layer 2 networking problem. No matter how complex the problem, you will be able to determine where to start, how to narrow down the problem to a single layer, and even how to figure out what specific technology is causing it.
