Description

The Microsoft Azure platform allows you to effectively design and implement fault tolerant, high availability solutions in the cloud. In this course, Designing for High Availability on Microsoft Azure, you'll learn about the design considerations to keep in mind when building applications in the cloud. First, you'll discover how to design high availability architectures using availability sets and availability zones. Next, you’ll dive into enabling high availability through Azure Autoscale, Azure Virtual Networking, load balancing, and for custom applications working with asynchronous messaging queues. Finally, you'll explore features and services for architecting highly available applications. By the end of this course, you'll have a deeper understanding of the patterns and best practices to design highly available applications in the cloud.

Course Overview
Hey everyone, it's Mike Pfeiffer, and in this course, Designing for High Availability on Microsoft Azure, we'll take a look at the design considerations you should keep in mind when you're building applications in the cloud that are resilient and fault tolerant. To get started, we'll take a look at the core design considerations for high availability on Azure, so we'll explore the concept of working with the Azure global information and you'll learn about the features and services available for architecting highly available applications. Next we'll move on to important concepts, like auto scaling, storage, high availability, networking, and application redundancy, and as we move through each module in the course, you'll gain a deeper understanding of the patterns and best practices that you should be using in the real world to design highly available applications in the cloud. So if you're new to Azure and you need to start designing your own high availability strategy, this course is definitely for you.
