Description

When you think of customer service, you might think of a call center where customer service reps provide assistance over the phone. But for some companies and industries, that service extends beyond the office, and technicians are sent into the field to make service calls. That’s what the Field Service application is all about: delivering on-site service to your customers and managing a mobile workforce. In this course, Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Field Service, you’ll learn the fundamentals of this important part of Dynamics 365. First, you’ll become familiar with the core entities used in the Field Service app, with a special focus on Work Orders. You’ll learn how to create and schedule work orders, and then see how a field technician would use the Field Service Mobile app to complete work on-site. Next, you’ll explore ways to automate some of the data entry work, using incident types and agreements. Finally, you’ll get an overview of how assets, inventory, and purchasing work in Field Service. When you’re finished with the course, you’ll have a foundational understanding of Dynamics 365 for Field Service, and how to use it to provide great on-site service to your customers.

Course Overview
Hi there, my name is Amber Israelsen, and welcome to my course, Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Field Service. I've been doing software development and training for over 15 years, and during that time I've seen many shifts in technology, one of the largest being the use of mobile devices, not only in our personal lives, but also in business. As companies work to deliver better and faster service to customers, that's necessitated untethering from the office and providing service in the field, and that's what the Field Service application is all about, delivering onsite service to your customers and managing a mobile workforce. In this course, you'll learn the fundamentals of this important part of Dynamics 365. You'll become familiar with the core entities used in the Field Service app with a special focus on work orders. You'll learn how to create and schedule work orders and then see how a field technician would use the Field Service mobile app to complete their work onsite. You'll also explore ways to automate some of the data entry work using incident types and agreements. Finally, you'll get an overview of how assets, inventory, and purchasing work in Field Service. When you're finished with the course, you'll have a foundational understanding of Dynamics 365 for Field Service and how to use it to provide great onsite service to your customers. This course targets end users of the Dynamics 365 for Field Service application. A secondary audience is superusers, customizers, administrators, and developers who need to better understand how things work out of the box so they can more effectively customize the system. Prior to watching this course, you should've watched my other course on Pluralsight called Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement: Getting Started. I hope you'll join me in this journey in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Field Service at Pluralsight.
