Throughout these lessons, we'll go over modeling and production pipeline workflows on how to quickly model a Sci-Fi mesh. We will cover topics such as design block outs, creating an interesting silhouette, rules of 3, how to make functional designs, and how to use concepts to help create believable and original designs. By the end, you will be able to more clearly convey your ideas and tackle future projects more effectively. Software required: 3ds Max 2015.

Introduction and Project Overview
Hi, everyone. My name is Tim Diaz. I'm a 3D environment artist at 343 Industries. My current project is Halo 5: Guardians on the Xbox One, and some of my past projects were Halo 4, God of War 3, and BioShock 2. In this course, we are going to take reference photos and rebuild the object to make it our own and believable. Some of the major topics we will be discussing in this course will include advanced hard surface and hard surface organic modeling, building modular pieces to be reused so that we can build the object faster, how to interpret reference into a form over function method, and design theories to help us make the object something we could actually see in the real world. By the end of the training, you'll be able to take some of these techniques and apply them to many 3D modeling situations, personal and professional. I'm excited to work with Digital-Tutors and share these techniques with you, so let's get started with the first lesson.
