The core services of OpenStack are Nova and Neutron. If you understand these then you can administer OpenStack. In this course, OpenStack: Nova and Neutron, you will learn to manage Neutron Networking, Nova Compute, and HEAT Orchestration services. First, you will delve into using ip netns to jump onto internal networks. Next, you will learn to customize Nova Instances with scripts. Finally, you will dive into automating the build and tear down of resources in an Agile environment using HEAT. When you are finished with this course, you will be competent in working with Neutron, Nova, HEAT, and troubleshooting OpenStack services.

Hi everyone and welcome. My name is Andrew Mallet, also known as The Urban Penguin. Now because you are listening to this, you are just about minutes away from taking your next step in managing OpenStack and gaining your certified OpenStack administrator certification. Now does that sound good? Covering the main elements of OpenStack, the OpenStack Nova and Neutron course can act as a stand alone course to get you up and running really quickly with OpenStack. In this OpenStack course, we look in detail at managing Neutron, the networking service, Nova the OpenStack compute service, and Heat orchestration services as well as troubleshooting your OpenStack system. Working through the course we're going to show you, among other topics, how you can use IP netns to jump into your internal networks. We'll be looking at how we customize our Nova instances with scripts and even better than all of this put together, we're going to be automating the build and tear down of resources in an Agile environment using Heat. To begin this course, you should need though some good knowledge of Linux administration and be competent at working at the Linux command line.
