We will cover how to create basic growth patterns using Trapcode Particular, and then how to use those as texture maps within CINEMA 4D as well as generate Thinking Particles for our ice crystals. By the end of this tutorial, you will clearly understand the professional workflow of how to create organic ice growth patterns you can use in your own projects. Introduction and Project Overview
Hi everyone, my name's Josh Smith. I'm a lead design and CG artist at Digital Kitchen LA. My current or latest work projects include work on titles for shows like Narcos and The Strain, as well as cinematics and animation for companies like Audi, AT&T, Toyota and Boeing. In this course, we're going to learn how to create custom and organic ice growth patterns. Some of the key takeaways from watching this course include learning how to use Trapcode Particular to create complex growth patterns of any shape, use animated sequences as texture maps within Cinema 4D, to use those texture maps to spawn thinking particles using the Pmatterwaves expresso node and then to use those thinking particles to create geometry for growing crystal patterns. By the end of the training, you'll be able to create your own detailed custom ice growth patterns and animations for use in title reveals or macro imagery or whatever you like. I'm excited to work with Digital-Tutors and share these techniques with you. Let's get stated with the first lesson.
