Course Overview
Hello. My name is Sara Morgan Nettles, and welcome to my Getting Started with Salesforce Security course. I am a Salesforce Certified Platform II Developer, and I've been working on the Salesforce platform for a decade. Salesforce approaches security with a layered approach, and this allows for a finely tuned security design. There are a lot of configuration options to consider, and this is great for securing an organization's data, but it can feel a little overwhelming for anyone that is new to their architecture model. But don't worry because I will be taking you step by step through all of it. And in this Getting Started course, I will keep everything at a very high level. Some of the major topics that we will cover include the four levels of Salesforce security, how to configure trusted and login IP ranges, the next generation of Salesforce user management, and how to limit and then open up access with the Salesforce sharing model. By the end of this course, you'll know how to provide access to the platform using profiles, permission sets, roles, and security settings. Before beginning the course, you just need to be familiar with using the Salesforce platform. And I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn Salesforce security fundamentals with the Salesforce Security: Getting Started course, at Pluralsight.
