Understanding Office 365
With our introductions now completed, it's time for us to move on to our first module. And what we're going to do here is we're going to spend some time talking about understanding Office 365. So before we go do that, we're going to do one little introduction, just like I said for every module, and we're going to take a moment and walk over what we're going to do. So in this module we'll be going over the following sections. The first piece that we're going to go over is the history of Office 365. This is going to give us kind of you know that back story to the rest of what we're going to be doing. Now after we do that, we're going to go over a quick overview of Office 365, just so that we're all on the exact same page. What is Office 365? And we'll talk about that when we get there. We're going to move there to understanding the tenant name. You know, when we go there and we become a tenant in this, what does that mean? So we'll look at the tenant name. We'll also talk about understanding the tenant region. And this is about where data is actually stored and where it's stored. So that's an important one. When we get past that we're going to talk about understanding the global administrator. Last but not least we're going to do a review. Now what all this does is it's going to give us some pre-prep work to make sure that we understand each of these pieces and the exam is going to ask information on everything except for the history of Office 365. That's just to get us started. Alright, with all that said, what we should do now is go jump over and start on the history of Office 365. Let's go over there shall we?

Managing the Office 365 Setup
Well welcome to another module. In this module what we're going to do is we're going to go over Managing Our Office 365 Setup. Now this is where we're going to take all those pieces we've done in the previous modules and we're going to start bringing them to the forefront and helping us set up our Office 365. Because of course we need to go set it up so we can get our hands dirty, right? Okay, let's take a couple moments to talk about an introduction before we go jump into doing that, shall we? In this module, we're going to be going over the following areas that we will be managing. Now the first area we will be managing the licensing model. So we're actually going to have look over all the licensing models. Now it's important to note that on the exam you're going to be asked about the licensing model. So we need to know what's there available right now and before you go do any type of exam, making sure that you followup in the location to see if there's been any changes. The next one we're going to do is managing our tenant subscription, and that's where we actually go through setting up our trial. Now after we've picked our licensing model and we've done our tenant subscription, well we still have to go through managing our initial domains. And our initial domains are going to be what did we originally have, and that's based on our tenant subscription, and what about our own DNS that we talked about previously? Alright, enough of all this, let's go jump in there and start talking about managing the licensing model.

DNS for Our Office 365 Service
Welcome back for another module. In this module we're going to go over DNS for our Office 365 Service. So we all know we need DNS to start redirecting people. So we're going to talk for a moment about what types of DNS we're actually going to be setting up. So in this module we're going to go over the following areas where we will be setting up our DNS. The first one is going to be our initial domain, and that's going to be the domain that we've decided to bring over to move us away from that tenancy name. So we had Globomantic. OnMicrosoft. com. We'll we're actually going to create ourselves a Globomantics domain and bring that over. After we've done that we still have to go do some things for our Exchange DNS, and then we've got to go over our Lync DNS. And last but not least, we've got to go over our Office 365 DNS. Okay, so that leaves us one more, and I said that's kind of the final of it, and the one more is a little bit separate. We'll talk about it when we get to it because it's got some unique things. When we set these up it's pretty straightforward. But the next one leads us to some different types of DNS, and that's going to be our SharePoint DNS where we talk about what we can and cannot set up for it and what some of the caveats to it are. Alright, so this is what we're going to be going over. So what we should do is we should spend less time talking about it on the slide and we should head right over and start talking about managing our initial domain and getting that set up, shall we? See you there in a second.
