Thinking through the Considerations for a Citrix XenApp 7.6 Design
Now that we better understand why we need a lab environment in our organization, let's take a look at what it means to set up a XenApp 7. 6 Lab environment for your organization and all of the considerations that will apply. My name is Theresa Miller and we will be talking through this today. An overview of what we're going to cover today includes the Flex Management Architecture introduced by Citrix in the earlier version of the XenApp 7 platforms. We're going to cover the delivery controllers and their services and the value they provide to your environment. The Virtual Desktop Agent, what it means to this new thought process and design model. Citrix StoreFront and its value to your users. And finally, databases and how they can also both benefit and negatively impact your environment if not set up correctly.

Introduction to the Citrix Delivery Controller and Installation Demo
Welcome to an "Introduction to the Citrix Delivery Controller and Installation Demo. " My name is Theresa Miller and we're going to go ahead and take a look at what it means to get this accomplished in your XenApp test lab environment today. My plan is to guide you through an overview of the Delivery Controller, Review the Delivery Controller placement within the Flex Management architecture that was introduced in XenApp 7. 0 by Citrix. We're going to go ahead and do a database overview. We're going to do a demonstration of the installation of the Citrix Delivery Controller. And I'm going to do a demo that will walk you through Citrix Studio so that you have a better understanding of what is required and what you might use within this console. Delivery Controllers in general are used to authenticate your user access in your test lab site. So, anybody that you're going to be using for testing will be able to get in through this particular configuration and role. Your Delivery Controller brokers connections between your users and their resources, so anything that they need to get at in the XenApp Test Lab site, this is where they would broker through. And finally, your Delivery Controllers will distribute applications to your users within your test environment, which will be very important if you're testing application upgrades.
