In this Mudbox and RenderMan tutorial, we'll cover the principles of texturing using Ptex for look dev. We'll focus on the workflow to create textures with the right resolution and export them to Maya. Then we're going to do the look development of our tram using RenderMan RIS and its powerful LM materials. By the end of this Mudbox and RenderMan training, you'll have a better understanding of Ptex texturing and it's workflow between Maya, Mudbox and RenderMan 19. Introduction and Project Overview Hi, everyone. This is Miguel Lleras. I'm a lighting artist and compositor with experience in feature film animation and VFX. My latest projects include Rio 2, Big Hero 6, and Fantastic Four. In this course, we're going to learn about texturing and look development using a classic San Francisco trambia. Some of the major topics for this course include Ptex setup before painting our textures, understand how to choose map resolution for optimal painting, working with painting channels, as well as working and setting up our texture from Mudbooks to RenderMan. By the end of the training, you will be able to take advantage of the powerful Ptex system inside Mudbox and Renderman and paint texture for any hard surface of it.
